Clay Mosaic 3 Day Workshop “From Start To Finish” – Ages 16-Adult. Wednesdays,  January 13, 20 & 27 from 6:00-9:00 p.m. at the Carrollton Cultural Arts Center in Classroom #2.  Instructor Helen Helwig, professional clay and mosaic artist will teach participants raw clay handbuilding techniques  to create their own handmade clay tiles, glaze them with various colors and then incorporate the glazed tiles into their own piece of mosaic art. Each step of the process will move the students closer to a completed mosaic panel, suitable for wall hanging. This course has been requested by past students but can be accomplished by all skill levels. Fee: $65 plus $30 material fee payable to instructor at class. Time permitting, participants can make a few extra clay pieces beyond the pieces needed for their mosaic. Memory Ware Mosaics Workshop: Ages 16 to adult. Saturday, June 20 from 9-noon at Carrollton Cultural Arts Center.  Fee $35 plus$10 for supplies to be paid to instructor at workshop.  This workshop will result in the creation of a mosaic wall hanging made of broken knick knacks, old dishes, collected coins, souvenirs, or other items participants bring to be included in their own personalized memory mosaic.  Additional pieces will be available at the workshop.  Students will glue their pieces onto a tile board and then grout the mosaic.  It will be wired to hang on the wall.  Participants are encouraged to bring items to be included in their mosaic:  small river rocks, colorful tiles to break up, glass gems, small mirror tiles, shells, old jewelry or beads, broken dishes or small items (thrift stores) and small tiles (check out Home Depot, Hobby Lobby, Walmart or Michaels for items).  Call the Arts Center to register – 770-838-1083.

Mosaic Birdbath Workshop:  ages 16 to adult. Saturday, June 20, 1:30-4:30 p.m. Fee is $35 when register and $10 paid to instructor at workshop for supplies.  This workshop will result in the creation of a simple mosaic birdbath.  Participants will use a medium sized terra cotta saucer as the base for their birdbath and colorful mosaic pieces (including glass, pebbles, handmade clay pieces and broken commercial tiles) will be glued down and grouted to create the mosaic birdbath.  Participants are encouraged to bring nonporous items to be included in their mosaic:  small river rocks, glass gems, shells, old jewelry, beads, small sculptures and small stone tiles.  Please register at 770-838-1083
